I rely on recorded tv too much...
OH no! My DVR died after two years!!! According to the LG LRM-519 Yahoo Group, these units seem to die after 2 years and may be revived by replacing the capacitors. But what to do in the meantime as I get around to ordering the capacitors and figure out how install them?!?!?! *cries*

Eeek, that sucks! Time to break out the VCR and VHS tapes. That DVR looks pretty neat too- better than the standard DVR I got from Time Warner. I hope you can fix it!

*gasp* Gave away my VCR. Will try to read or watch DVDs this weekend, I guess.

I like the LG LRM-519 since you didn't have to pay for all those lame monthly fees and it had two USB ports so you could hook up additional external hard drives! And I could record whole tv series. The one big downside was the blah picture quality which was on par with a VCR. Unfortunately LG stopped making these units a couple years ago.
